A Note from the DRS: COAST Father's Day Race Goes Virtual

by

We understand there are questions regarding the Father's Day 5k moving to a virtual race. We thought it was important to be transparent and share this with you:

Due to internal organizational and logistical challenges in transitioning the race from Goodwin Community Health to COAST, COAST had to make the difficult decision to convert this year’s Father’s Day 5k from an in-person event to a virtual race format. This included considerations related to staffing, race operations, police detail, timing services, and sponsorship support necessary to host a successful in-person event.

While the Dover Race Series understands the disappointment this change may cause for participants, this decision was made solely by the organizing body, COAST. The Dover Race Series does not directly operate any of the 11 races within the series, as each event is independently managed by its respective nonprofit organization. As a result, the Dover Race Series must adapt to decisions made by individual race organizers regarding their events.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support of the nonprofits and community organizations that make the Dover Race Series possible. We look forward to bringing this race back to an in-person event in 2027. Thank you!
