The Run Before You Crawl 5k is Coming March 12

Dover Main Street, a non-profit dedicated to downtown revitalization, is pleased to announce registration is now open for its annual Run Before You Crawl 5K Road Race to be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

Dover Main Street's 8th Annual Run Before You Crawl 5k is the kick-off race to the 2022 Dover Race Series and features the classic loop course which goes out Chestnut Street, to Washington Street, up the infamous Whittier Street hill, down 6th Street, and back to Chestnut. New this year will be a large heated registration tent in the transportation center parking lot to help stave off the cold before race time. Water and snacks will be provided by Janetos Market and Hannaford’s.

“We are so excited for this year’s race, with the ability to be in person compared to last year’s virtual race,” said Gail Daudelin, Chair, Dover Main Street. “Special thanks to the many downtown businesses that have graciously sponsored the underwriting of this event.”

With great uncertainty in the days ahead, Dover Main Street decided not to hold the annual pub crawl, which traditionally takes place directly after the race. Runners are encourage to take a break after their run at one (or many!) of Dover’s downtown restaurants and bars. Establishments may offer runners discounts or specials, so be sure to bring your running bibs, just in case.

An official USA Track and Field certified course, registration for the 5k is only $25 for adults and $10 for Kids 12 & under. The first 200 signups will receive a free 2022 performance long-sleeved race shirt and will be available for purchase for only $15 thereafter.  Head to the Dover Transportation Center on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 5:00p-8:00pm, to register and pick up your race packet or go online at: https://www.runreg.com/run-before-you-crawl-5k
